When using Internet Explorer (IE) browser to browse the web, there may be times for you to get an “Error on Page” message. According to my own experience, experiencing error messages during the usage of IE is quite common. For example, you may encounter the “Error on page” message when Internet Explorer is unable to load your visiting page, or when your Internet Explorer needs to be updated. Here are some things that you can do to fix IE “Error on Page” by yourself.

fix IE error

When getting an “Error on Page” message, you’d better check and reset your Internet Explorer’s settings. Some incorrect settings can make the Windows Internet Explorer to stop working and display some unknown errors. To do this, you can simply perform the following steps:
*Open your Windows Explorer windows.
*Click Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
*Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset.
*In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset.
*Click Close, and then click OK when you have finished the resetting.
*Quit your Windows Explorer windows and re-open it to get all these changes to take effect.

If a reset of the Windows Internet Explorer setting does not solve the problem, make sure that you have installed all available updates. Windows provides free updates for Windows operating system, software and hardware regularly to deal with some previous unknown bugs. Sometimes, it might include updates for Internet Explorer, which works to deal with the Windows Internet Explorer not working problem. What is more, Windows updates help to greatly enhance PC performance and improve its ability against some unknown threats. Thus, it is highly recommended that you can download and install all recommended updates properly on the computer.

Thirdly, well protect the computer against viruses with the help of a trusted antivirus antispyware program. Some anti-virus or firewall applications can stop the “Error on Page” message from appearing frequently. You can temporarily disable them before loading the page to test whether they are the causes of the “Error on Page” message or not. If you are able to open the browser correctly, you’d better create an exception in your anti-virus or firewall settings for Internet Explorer. However, do remember to make all these applications up to date. After doing this, simple re-enable the applications. By the way, to prevent the frequent appearance of error message, you still have to make sure that the computer is always virus clean without some risky threats.

Finally, an error within the registry database can also stop your Windows Internet Explorer from running correctly and display an “Error on Page” message. The Windows registry database contains all the configurations and settings for the hardware and software of your computer. That is, it contains all the values and keys to tell the system when and how to function the program correctly. Whenever you install the Internet Explorer to the computer, it will automatically add some corresponding to this database to tell the system when and how to perform all your requests correctly. If some goes missing and cannot be located correctly to open your Internet Explorer, you will unexpectedly get a Windows Internet Explorer is not responding, stops working or crashes error message. Thus, it is quite important for you to regularly check and repair all registry errors instantly. This way, you will be able to run the computer as well as your Windows Internet Explorer properly all the time.

Whenever you get the “Error on Page” message, or no matter which page you are visiting, first make sure the setting to the IE is correct, and update it to the latest version; and then well optimize it with an antispyware program and a system registry fixer. Thus, you will soon be able to access all your desired pages without errors.
