Sometimes, an update will be aborted by some computer viruses and cause the code 0X0000005 error message. Soon after getting on the PC, they will severely disrupt your computer, deny service, accumulate data on PC, acquire access to your computers resources, or stop you from installing some applications on the PC, etc. After the above steps, no matter it works or not, you’d better completely scan your whole PC and remove all PC viruses. Also, it is advised that you can let your PC protection program always running in the background to realtime block and remove any threat to the PC.

Thirdly, clear the cache and troubleshoot & fix extension errors. Some data including your browsing and download history, cache, cookies, passwords, and saved form data sometimes can be a major cause for Google Chrome error 0X0000005. At this time, directly clear all these from your PC. To do this, you can follow these steps:

To troubleshoot and fix extension errors, first you have to know that though they are helpful allowing you to easily control your Google Chrome, it on the other side can work incompatibly with the browser or sometimes stop you from updating it or launching it properly. To check and uninstall a problematic extension, just select “Extension” from Tool option, click the trash icon by the extension you would like to remove and then “Remove” to uninstall the extension.

Finally, to fix the Google Chrome error 0X0000005 you still have to check and repair Windows registry errors. As you install the chrome, it will automatically add some entries to the database so as to tell the system when and how to launch it correctly. However, such entries are very easy to get corrupted as you uninstall/install a program, or when the computer gets infected, stopping the system from running the Google Chrome properly. Seriously, when the Google Chrome cannot locate the required entries to install an available update, a code 0X0000005 error will be generated immediately. Hence, you need to always keep the computer registry error-clean by either modifying it manually or launching a certain registry optimization program regularly.
